The After
The Before
I think this was my first photo ever taken trying a long exposure. I just finished the chapter on Time Value in my Photography for Dummies book, and ran outside, but it was almost pitch black out. I went ahead and tried it anyway thinking that the image would turn out as dark as it was outside. But when I downloaded it, I was surprised to see that there was quite a lot of light in it. The image was just to test out the setting I had just learned so it sat on my computer for a while. I came across it one day and thought I'd see what it would look like to just increase the contrast and saturation. That's what I did and it looked a lot better. I then stretched it out and squeezed the top down and there's the final result. I just moved two sliders and did a little Transform tool. I also painted over the couple things in my yard that were a little visible.
i don't know much about photographic technique, so thanks for sharing your process. i really like what you did with this particular image.
ReplyDeleteHow long exactly was the exposition for this one?
ReplyDeleteIt was 30 seconds, ISO 200, f5/6.
DeleteThank's :)
DeleteExcellent! I love long exposures...they give me time to enjoy coffee. LOL!
ReplyDeleteBoth awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThey look good. The camera will always try to bring the light up to something resembling daylight, for a dark night shot I often have to underexpose, but sometimes it's worth pulling all the light into the camera too!
ReplyDeleteLove that stretchy thing you did and the contrast/saturation boosts.
ReplyDeleteWell done!
the photo came out great! I love the editing fun.
ReplyDeleteLangzeitbelichtungen sind gar nicht so einfach, aber Du hast das sehr schön hinbekommen..
