I went to pick up some flyers for the show the other day, and took some photos of her shop while I was there. Here are a few along with the flyer. Stop by on June 7th and get some free food if anyone lives near Greensboro, NC.

My first photography exhibit.
I never expected that only 9 months after buying my first camera, and reading one of those "books for dummies" on how to use it that I would have my work displayed in a photography exhibit. One of my sister's friends owns a local florist, and once a month she has a Ladies' Night. She invites several vendors to show off their products, has live music, and features a local artist. Amazingly, she asked me to be the featured artist for June. I don't consider myself an artist, but there's free food and wine so I said ok. The only downside is I needed something to actually display so I had to order a bunch of prints to show off. About $700 dollars worth of prints. I guess that's pretty cheap compared to some of Trey Ratcliff's prints which go for as much as $1700 each. I know my photos don't compare to his, but I bet I can run faster. Anyway, I guess I'll have to figure out what to do with them after the show, so if anybody wants one let me know. I will autograph it, and maybe we can trade for some batteries or something. I go through AA batteries like crazy.

Very cool! Congratulations and have fun :).
ReplyDeleteStay inspired!
Wow, congratulations! This is just so great! I am trying to arrange a small exhibit myself, but no big success until now.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and don't forget to share with us afterwards :)
Big congrats! Your work is wonderful and deserves to be exhibited and fawned over!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! You never know what's around the corner and what this will lead to. I would not be surprised if you get some clients out of this. On a lesser note, when I entered the company photo contest this year, I asked if my company would start a photo club. Mgmt. thought it was a great idea but I was apprehensive anyway. We now have an official photo club of about 50 people and am thrilled it was my brainchild. Cannot wait to hear all about the show!!! PS - enjoy the food & wine!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I'm very happy for you, have fun :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's great! Congratulations!! If I were around, I would stop by and admire your work. It is definitely weird to be asked to exhibit when you don't consider yourself a "real" artist. I have had a couple of exhibitions and still feel like a fish out of water. But your stuff is terrific and deserving to be displayed.
ReplyDeleteTop work, i thought all of those tonal ranges would have confused the HDR process. But no, youve pulled it off.
