Hey everyone!

For those who don't know, which is probably all of you, I started doing photography full time a few months ago. This is the main reason I haven't been updating this blog as much. I'm still trying to figure out how to get organized with all the shooting/scheduling/editing/etc (plus the fact that Blogger has been a pain in the @$$ to upload to lately). I'm getting better, so hopefully I'll get back to posting on here regularly soon. I thought about stopping the blog all together, but this is really where I got my start. Less than 2 years ago I bought my first camera, and barely new how to turn it on. I bought a Canon EOS Rebel XS for Dummies book, started this blog, and now here I am. I have moved on from the Rebel XS. I do still have my T2i somewhere. My original budget for a camera was $400. Now, I'm in at well over $10,000, and that's not counting any of the studio equipment... or studio rent, or cloud backup fees, external hard drives, website hosting, SmugMug hosting, business cards, sample prints, gallery displays, etc. Plus all the time spent uploading to galleries for clients, adding photos to Facebook, updating my website, renewing Craigslist ads (I know, I know. Some people talk junk about photographers who use Craigslist, but some of my best clients have come from there. And some of the weirdest requests. I'm getting a job or two a week from it, and that's not bad for not spending a dime). Anyway, where was I? Who knows, so I guess I'll wrap it up for now. But, I just want to say thanks to everyone who takes the time to stop by and check out my stuff from time to time. There are a few more I need to add, and I will do that soon, but check out my list of favorite blogs at the bottom of the page. Make sure to follow them if you don't already.

I have recently updated my whole website, so if you have some free time stop and check it out. Thanks! 48Layers.com

I guess I should add some photos while I'm on. Here are a few from last year just a few days after I got my macro lens. I was still trying to figure out how to shoot little things that are moving all over really fast.

  3. Thanks guys! It's a lot of work, but it still feels like a hobby that people pay me for so I guess that's good.
