I'm still making rookie mistakes...

My mom is selling her house, so the real estate agent came by to do whatever real estate agents do. The agent forgot her camera (guess I'm not the only one making rookie mistakes) so my mom told her that her "favorite son" could take some photos for her to use in the listing. (she probably didn't say favorite, but I am her only son... I think. I should be her favorite). Anyway, I decided to try something different. I have always used Auto White Balance, but this time I figure I'll set it for indoor light. I get home and start processing pictures, and I'm pretty happy with them... until I get to the photos of the outside of the house. Apparently I forgot to adjust the White Balance. Everything had a blue tint to it. And not just a mild blue tint that I could correct in Photoshop. This was bad. I wouldn't have thought that White Balance would even affect it that much. I gave up trying to correct it, and decided to reshoot the outside. I could probably correct them by going back to the RAW files, but that is just way too many to do considering they will be used for HDR and will have multiple photos for each shot. Here are the ones from inside. 2. These shots are amazing! The house reminds me of a house my Auntie Mary had. It was a true log cabin and it was gorgeous!

  4. Deno, you should officially give up you day job and go real estate photographing. You mum should be especially proud of her favorite son. Good work fella

  5. I've often made the same mistake with the ISO. I like staying at 100 as much as possible. And I've never changed the auto white balance. So many things to remember!!!!
